Father's Day is a day to reflect on the depth of your bond with your father, and it’s also a chance to appreciate his endless love and support. This year, 84 years away from fatherhood, we’ve celebrated Father's Day together for 55 times. Every single time, I’ve been there for you in heart and sometimes faced life’s ups and downs.
Let’s take a closer look at some of the most important moments this year. When we were just separated by our generation gap but completely polarized by it, on both sides of the Great Divide, you stood on one side of the fence, while I stood on the other. We had separated forever, and in my heart, I always wanted to be with you. But sometimes life got in the way.
As a dad, I’m so proud of how much we’ve grown together over the years. When I taught you to drive an old Dodge, 54 years old, I decided that driving a brand new 54雪佛兰 was going to be fun either way. But then, the police officer who escorted me home after reporting the stolen snowmobile late one evening turned out to have no idea about father-daughter politics and couldn’t tolerate that little snittiness. You were so considerate of it all, dad, and I think that’s probably what made this the worst night of my life.
